Your doctor may order a high-sensitivity C-reactive protein laboratory that can identify you as a risk higher than the average individual, and an indication that early treatment with statins may help. But no drug can compete with the cornerstone of which you mentioned exercise, cessation of snuff, and dietary choices. Daily aspirin also helps prevent heart attacks. Oh, and only if the needs of mention, avoiding cocaine and heroin. Finally, if you are a person who snores, may be beneficial to get tested for sleep apnea, as this may not cause a blood clot form of a heart attack directly from sleep apnea. Without treatment, raising the risk of heart attack and stroke significantly and a lot of people have apnea and remain undiagnosed and untreated.
